The Association is seeking a President, to succeed Sue Green, who has very kindly continued in office beyond her “retirement” date.

Accordingly, expressions of interest are requested from adult members of affiliated clubs. Please contact the Hon Secretary – Roger Penfold – in writing, by 14 November 2011, if you are interesting in serving as President. He can be contacted at 30 Venetia Close, Emmer Green, Reading, RG4 8UG or via secretary @bsbasa.org. Please indicate of which club you are a member and your ASA membership number.

Details about the role of the President are below.

1. make presentation of trophies, medals and other awards at events promoted by the Association
2. chair meetings of the Executive Committee, although he/she may decline that role;
3. chair any Council Meetings in his/her term of office;
4. preside at the County Dinner (if held);
5. by invitation, represent the Association at competitions promoted by ASA South East Region and the ASA and social events organised by ASA South East Region and other county associations/sub-regional bodies.

In addition, the President is an ex-officio member of the Association’s Committees. The President is likely to be invited to accompany County teams to inter-county events.

The Association has a scheme for the reimbursement of presidential expenses, details of which the Hon Secretary can supply.
